Word Clouds
Student or teacher-created word clouds create a visual interpretation of text. There are a few different online tools that will help you create word clouds, I have linked a few others at the bottom of this post. Below I pasted Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I have a Dream" speech delivered on August 28, 1963 in Washington DC into Wordle.com.
Notice how words that occur more frequently in the speech are larger than others. What can this reveal about theme? Focus? Other word cloud tools:

What's an infographic?
Infographics are creative tools that reveal data and research in an interesting manner. We imagine students in just about any subject area can complete a research project with one of these as a component...or the final product.
